The Silver Edge overlay uses an array of infrared (IR) LEDs in the bezel of the overlay. Two tiny cameras in the corners track the movement of any object close to the screen by monitoring the interruption of the IR light source.

Any Substrate Possible: any substrate is suitable for the sensor, including glass, acrylic and polyester. Technologies such as capacitive and Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) can only use glass with ITO coating for sensor substrate.
Integration Possible: besides overlay for standard monitors, Silver Edge also provides optical touches as components for integration in customization since it is thin while Infra Red (IR) technology is not qualified for integration because of its thick frame.

How does it work.

The controller at the heart of the system then receives signals from the cameras, compensates for distortions and detects the position of the touching object with extreme accuracy.
A systematic and sophisticated algorithm is simultaneously adopted to help eliminate the impact of ambient light, creating an extraordinarily precise and clear screen.
| Step 1: Make sure you have your computer/TV screen and the overlay thoroughly cleaned, for the overlay is expected to be in use for a long time after the installation. |
| Step 2: The overlay comes with double sided adhesive strips. Tear off the outer layer of the strips in the all four corners and on the sides of the display, and paste the sticky side of the overlay onto the screen. |
| Step 3: Place the overlay on your screen precisely, then plugin the USB (install the driver if your computer runs Windows XP), lastly restart your computer once. |
