Unimox Colistin
UNIMOX COLISTIN is effective for the treatmentof gastrointestinal, respiratory and urinary tract infections caused by bacteria.
Composition (per 1 gm)
Amoxicillin trihydrate 500 mg
Colistin sulphate 800,000 I.U.
Indications
-Amoxicillin is similar to penicillin in its bactericidal action against susceptible bacteria during the stage of active multiplication.
- It acts through the inhibition of cell wall biosynthesis that leads to the death of the bacteria.
- the bacterial cell membrane is the initial site of action for colistin.
- Colistin binds to LPSs and phospholipids in the outer cell membrane of Gram-negative bacteria.
- Gastrointestinal, respiratory and urinary tract infections caused by amoxicillin and colistin sensitive micro-organisms, like Campylobacter, Clostridium, Corynebacterium, E. Coli, Erysipelothrix, Haemophilus, Pasteurella, Salmonella, penicillinase negative Staphylococcus and Streptococcus spp. In calves, goats, poultry, and sheep.
