We have been manufacturing opto-electronic color sorters for glass cullet sorting for more than 15 years, processing ceramic and metals and fully meeting the quality standards established by the glass industry to enter the melting ovens (max. Contamination% allowed) . SEA has set up new glass color sorting programs that just in one pass can separate every glass color fraction from the others with efficiencies between 85% and 95% , depending on cullet typology and sorting process. By recovering the sorted glass with a second pass it is possible to reach purity percentages > 99, 9% . A metal detector bar can be fitted inside the cullet-sorting machine. By installing this device our sorters can detect every metal particle remained after the ferrous (magnetic conveyor) and non-ferrous (eddy-current separator) metal separation, with a sorting efficiency of more than 98% , stainless steel included. The energy saving in the melting process may be around 2. 5% reduction of the oil needed every 10% of cullet being used. Therefore, 20% of energy can be saved using 80% of cullet.
