It is stable with oxygen, ozone, acid, alkali, ultraviolet radiation, etc. Doesn't dissolve in water, but dissolves easily in gasoline and benzene. Applications of mid-molecular weight polyisobutylene (Mid MW PIB) 1.Chewing Gum, Mid MW PIB can be mixed with paraffin and resin for improving the quality of the chewing gum, making chewing gum more soft and stable with good hydrophobic and excellent membrane performance. 2. Food Grade Adhesive Agent, Mid MW PIB can be mixed with various adhesive agents, taking the effect of adhesion and modification. As it has hydrophobicity, when mixed with hydrophilic substances, it has low toxic substance absorbancy and high temperature stability. In addition, it adjusts hardness and anti-bacterium performance. 3. Foodstuffs-Packaging Material, Mid MW PIB can be mixed with various types of paraffin and resins as the eliminating agent for packing membranes; e.g., Mid MW PIB can promote the low-temperature stability of products. 4. Food Hot-Melt Adhesive, Mid MW PIB can be blended as a plasticizer of hot melt adhesive for food. As well, it can also be used as thermoplastic rubber (TPR) and the like as the base. 5. Medical Adhesives, Mid MW PIB can be mixed with various types of adhesives including pressure sensitive adhesive in direct contact with human skin. 6. Sealant, Mid MW PIB improves the sealant's flexibility and penetrability. It works very well as a sealant in double glassing.
