UPA Multipurpose Compound is a ready-mixed compound used as a taping coat and finishing, can also be used over based coats.
UPA Multipurpose Compound has a smooth base for ease of handling and is crack resistant with strong adhesion qualities.
Its formulation delivers excellent slip and bond and easy workability. It can be used directly from the container and requires only minimal mixing. Joint finishing is fast, easy, and smooth, reducing labor costs and improving
the appearance and quality of any plastering job.
Applications
UPA Multipurpose Compound can only be applied onto dry surfaces. Apply
thoroughly and allow each coat to dry before applying any further coats.
i) Joint Finishing
At joints between panels, fill with compound using 150mm (6) blade knife.
Embed the UPA tape and press in with knife. Remove any excess compound.
Apply a thin coat of compound evenly over the UPA tape. Apply second coat
at joints and fasteners, smoothing out 50mm beyond first coat and allow to
dry. Apply final thin finish coat to joints and fasteners and let dry.
ii) To Finish Inside Corners
Apply compound to both sides (150mm blade knife). Fold UPA tape along
centre and press into position. Embed the UPA tape with knife. Remove
excess compound. Apply a thin coat evenly over the UPA tape. Apply second
coat on one side and allow to dry. Apply the other side in a similar fashion.
Apply final thin finish then smooth the finish coat.
iii) To Finish Outside Corners
Fasten UPA metal corner bead directly to drywall and apply 3 coats of
compound.
