The EFS 8244 module ensures the regulation of high pressure in the "common rail" diesel injection systems.
The device is driven by a PC through a RS485 serial link.
It is powered by a 115Vac or 230Vac 50/60 Hz supply and by a 10 to 36V DC supply (battery simulator) for actuator command.
System composition
The module comes in a 3U 19" rack format. The system is composed of :
A CPU board that processes the information and performs the numerical pressure adjustment.
A pressure sensor conditioning board :
Input signals : 0-5V or 0-32mA.
Sensor supply output : +5V or + 12Vdc
The actuator command boards supply can be external (connector on the rear panel) or internal (optional supply board).
Up to 4 actuator driving boards can be placed in the same rack.
These boards allow different types of pressure regulation :
Asynchronous regulation on the rail
Output regulation of the high pressure pump
Input regulation of the high pressure pump and low pressure output
Input regulation of the low pressure pump
Each board can drive 2 actuators (allowing up to 8 actuators to be driven with 4 boards).
Typical use
The EFS 8244 pressure regulator is connected to the supervisor through a RS485 (MODBUS) link. The following information is exchanged :
pressure set point,
type of actuator used : type 1 to 32,
regulator fault status,
time of pressure measurement command,
connected sensor parameters (linearity and full scale),
instant pressure measurement.
Other signals are also available
I/O signals (Digital) :
validation input 0-24Vdc (regulator inhibition priority input),
3 output contacts for regulator faults (for external security loop),
1 output contact indicating P
