These coolers work by passing hot, dry air through damp pads, so they work best in areas where the climate is rather hot and dry. However, even if your climate is not normally hot and dry, there may be an area in your home or facility where the evaporative cooler will still work well. As the hot air comes in contact with the wet pads, some of the water evaporates into the air, cooling it by as much as 30 degrees from the original temperature. The pads also happen to have the added benefit of acting as air purifiers or ionizers. Once the air is cooled, a fan mechanism blows the cleaner, cooler air into the room, circulating and cooling the whole area.
