N.S. Special Applications

A) Enhancing Insulation of Fire-brick Kilns Currently, one of the largest glass manufacturers in the world is in negotiations with our N.S. coating to remedy a problem which plagues the industry relating to fire-brick failure in 5 to 7 year cycles. N.S. has the ability to extend the lifespan of a kilns interior several fold. It also allows a kiln to operate at much higher temperatures allowing the end user to utilize cleaner, more cost effective fuel sources, i.e. oxy-acetylene. In doing so, this also enables the client to pursue environmental tax credits through the use of greener fuel sources. Through these discussions, several other problems which plague this industry have come to light to which we have solved with N.S. and other solutions.

B) Insulation of Live (HOT) Steam/Liquid Piping Used in factories (Live steam, 325 degrees F.). A thin application of N.S. will permit handing of coated pipe without the use of heat protection gloves. Bare-handed contact with N.S. coated steam pipe will not result in injured or burned flesh. As with the application of many of our other products the benefits of substantial insurance rate reduction becomes a possibilities.

C) Insulation of Steel Beams/Girders/Piping Used in construction of buildings. Steel can transmit heat from basement fire to the roof, setting it on fire. Code calls for cladding to insulate steel to reduce fire transfer probability. Most competitors apply their material up to 3-4 inch cladding thickness or more, resulting in a very time and labor-intensive application.

NOTE: When N.S. coating is combined with our Proprietary Additives and is applied to steel substrate by spray gun at approximately 1/8 thickness. The N.S. coating then expands shortly after the application to a thickness of up to 1.5, providing exceptional insulating and fireproofing qualities.

Fire/heat transfer prevention is excellent.

All N.S. applications are pigmentable, using inexpensive iron oxides.

Chemical Corrosion Resistance: Excellent. Protects against Hydrofluoric Acid to 27% concentration.

Typical cure time to use ranges from 5 minutes to 1-1/2 hours depending upon thickness.

Cure time is controllable.

N.S. has a durability span of 20 years or more.

Insulation of Steel Beams/Girders/Piping

Many of our products are used in building construction. For example, fire codes call for cladding to insulate steel to reduce fire transfer. Most competitors apply their material by labor-intensive, slow and very expensive toweling. Cladding thickness, trowel-applied, is approximately one-quarter (1/4) inch to two-thirds (2/3) inch.

This old-fashioned method is replaced using a specially engineered version of our N.S. coating

Note: N.S., when combined with other special proprietary italicize & bold face proprietary additives, is applied to steel substrates by inexpensive spray gun at approximately one-sixteenth (1/16) to one-eighth (1/8) inch thickness. This special N.S. coating then expands shortly after application to a thickness of up to one and one-half inch (1-?) inches providing exceptional thermal encapsulation and fireproofing.

Hazardous waste/toxic chemicals storage areas; N.S. has excellent, significantly profitable opportunities in providing superior protection in this environmentally-sensitive industry.
