The indigenous Puer tea is produced in Lingcang Yunnan province of China, where is reputed as the top place of origin for Puer tea. Lincang was named after its location by the bank of Lancang River, around which the whole area is featured by lofty mountains and deep valleys, with an average altitude of above 1,500 meters, meandering streams, moist climate, perennial wreathing cloud, abundant rainfalls, and soil rich in organic content; it is the core origin of tea plants and source base of quality tea in the world and is recognized worldwide as the "hometown of Puer tea and Yunnan black tea"
