Amorphous graphite is the least graphitic of the natural graphites. However, the term "amorphous" is a misnomer since the material is still crystalline. Amorphous graphite is found as minute particles in beds of mesomorphic rocks such as coal, slate or shale deposits. The graphite content ranges from 25% to 85% dependent on the geological conditions.
According to size difference and application, we have amorphous graphite powder, graphite grain and graphite briquette as below:
Graphite Powder
Size: 80, 100, 150, 200, 325 mesh
Fixed carbon: 70-90%
Moisture: 2% max.
Application: pencil, battery carbon rods, foundry material, graphite eemulsion for welding, dyestuff and lubrication materials
Graphite Grain
Size: 0-3 mm, 0-6 mm, 0-15mm, 1-5mm, 2-5mm, 1-6mm
Fixed carbon: 70-90%
Moisture: 2% max.
Application: carburetant for steel & iron, fire-proof material, the heat meaterial and electrode compound etc.
Graphite Briquette
After broken, blending, extrusion and drying, the amorphous graphite is processed into graphite briquette with certain intensity.
Size: 45x38x25mm, 45x45x20mm, 30x25x20mm, 25x20x16mm, sepcifications on request;
Fixed carbon: 70-90%
Application: protection of steel ingot.
