It is yellow and gray powder. It is odorless and subsaline. Its molecular formular is C₁₂H₂₂FeO₁₄ 2H₂O and molecular weight is 482. As food additive, the adding amount of Ferrous Gluconate: 200-400mg in cereal and cereal product, 80-160mg in beverage, 400-800mg in dairy product and nurseling food, 4800-6000mg in table salt and bonbon.
It also conforms with the requirements of FCC V ,USP28 and BP 98.
