Alkaline resistance chopped strands with special sizing, either as a premixing chopped strands or water-dispersed chopped strands are designed for the use:
Premixing chopped strands: the reinforcement of concrete, renders and mortars. It can be added to conventional mixes either on site or by pre-blending with other dry mix components. The low-tex strand permits efficient reinforcement at low dosages. They are particularly suited to the modification of standard concrete mixes for floor screeds and slabs, and for the preparation of pre-bagged mixes of special mortars and renders.
Water-dispersed chopped strands: is typically used at a low level of addition to prevent crack & improve the performance of ready mix concrete, floor screeds, renders or other special mortar mixes. It is also used for surface crack - proof of GRC products.
Properties
· Premixing chopped strands have good abrasion, stiffness, aging and bundle-state characteristics. The filaments (2%) maintain the bundle integrity when mixed with cement for a duration of 20 minutes at 50 rpm.
· The water dispersed size chopped strands disperse well to filaments in water within 10 seconds. This fast and well disperse characteristics enable less amount of chopped strands to achieve the reinforcement requirements.
