For Assessing The Residual Stresses in Small Glass ProductsThis Sharples Strain Viewer has been developed specifically for the inspection of stresses in small glass components such as light bulbs, precision glassware, ampoules and miniature bottles and jars.
The compact bench-top instrument has a 117mm diameter viewing field and basically comprises a light source, an analyzer and a polarizer with tint plate.
The optical field incorporates a high quality tint plate which, together with a superb light source, provides an evenly illuminated field which is free from “banding”. Small glass products for examination in polarized light may be hand-held or supported in a suitable fixture.
For the comfort and convenience of operatives, the strain viewer can be provided with a tilt base which maybe removed or refitted using a single hand screw.
