Primarily used for its combination of tensile strength, creep strength, and Toughness, Ti 6-2-4-2 has good creep resistance up to 550°C and up to 0.1% Silicon is frequently added to further improve the creep resistance of the alloy. Ti 6-2-4-2 alloy is produced by primary melting under vacuum (VAR), electron Beam (EB) melting or plasma arc cold hearth melting (PAM).
