Planetary roller extruders (PREs) are currently being employed first and foremost to feed calender/lamination units, for pelleting, for compounding powdered paint and for the reuse of recyclate. In these disciplines it is the most successful multi-screw extruder. The range of materials that are compounded extends from classical plasticised poly-(vinyl chloride) (PVC), via poly(propylene) (PP) and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), through to powdered rubber.
