Biliary stent features unique memory capability and super elasticity besides its excellent biological compatibility and corrosion resistance. It turns ito a softened status in an ice water bath at 0-10℃ and can therefore change its shape to a certain degree. It is then placed in an introducer less than 8-10 Fr. And pushed out above 33℃ and returned to its original shape immediately. A contiuous mild radial expanding force exerting on the inner wall o bile duct is generated such that an unobstructed way at the formally stricture segment is restored. The stent owns remarkable super elasticity at body temperature which enables it to undulate, keeping pace with the normal creeping of the bile duct so that no discomfort could be felt whilst the bile duct remains unobstructed. Both ends of the stent are constructed with small arcs which would do no harm to the wall of bile duct. It is easy to be operated and its effects are definite. | ||
