DICHLOROFLUOROETHANE(HCFC-141b)
CAS NO. 1717-00-6
Molecular Formula :C2H3 CFCl2
Molecular Weight: 116.95
Boiling Point(101.325Pa,°C) :32.1
Melting Point(°C) :-103.5
Critical Temperature (°C) :208.1
Critical Pressure(MPa) :4.34
Density(Kg/m 3 ) :123.5
Ignition Limits(air %) :5.6-17.0
ODP Value :0.10
Properties: Dichlorofluoroethane(HCFC-141b) is a non-toxic and colorless transparent liquid under normal temperature. It has low ODP value and excellent chemical stability. Since its physical and chemical properties are similar to those of CFC-11 and CFC-113,it can substitute CFC-11 as the foaming agent for hard and flexible polyurethane foam, or it can be a substitute for CFC-113 as metal cleaner and deflux. It is a worldwide acknowledged substitute for CFCs.
1. Chemical Stability:It can be stored at room temperature without decomposition.
2. Corrosion: Even being boiled,it does not corrode iron and steel, stainless steel, copper, brass, aluminum, zinc, etc.
3. Solubility: It is soluble in most organic solvents, alcohol and ether. It has excellent compatibility with grease and lubricating oil, and no obvious effects on most macromolecular compounds including plastics and rubbers.
4. Toxicity: The toxicological testings conducted by the International PAFT II Association indicate that the HCFC-141b has no irritant effect on human skin and eyes, but inhalation of high-concentrated HCFC-141b will cause anaesthetic effect.
Package and Storage: Packed in iron drum. It should be stored in cool, dry and ventilated place, and kept away from sunlight and rain.
