Ni/C composite powders consist of a graphite core coated with layer of
nickel.
With the combination of high strength of Ni good lubricating property of
graphite, coatings of high-strength, heat-shock resistance, oxidation resistance, and low wear factor can be formed
by thermo-spraying or powder metallurgy, and are widely used for abradable seal parts
under 500 degree centigrade. With Ni/C powders, porous parts can be
produced by burning up the graphite in Ni-graphite structure.
So it plays an important role in aeroplane making, transportation, and
petrochemical and metallurgical industries.
