Steel Cut Wire,
1) Cut wire is an aggressive abrasive medium which is available in two forms: Standard (SCW) for blast cleaning and Conditioned (CCW) for peening. The pellets are made from drawn wire cut to a length; equivalent to the wire diameter. Being drawn rather than cast means that it is stronger than shot and has a longer working life. The more aggressive SCW pellet comes rated as either medium or high tensile in sizes of 0.3-2.5 mm diameter. It is used for quick removal of surface contaminants and has application in foundry and construction industries for de-sanding, cleaning and scale-removal. The term conditioning refers to the process whereby the pellets of wire are rounded off to create a solid near spherical shape. This makes CCW pellets ideal for peening where consistency in media particle size, hardness and density is required throughout the peeing process. Pellet sizes of 0.3-1.4 mm are available in three levels of conditioning.
2) Applications: peening, descaling, cleaning and deburring.
3) Suitable for: ferrous metal, steel castings & forgings, concrete & natural stone and aluminium & zinc diecastings .
