Thank you for choosing WiFi Signal Searching Instrument. Before using it, please read this manual carefully. Install and operate the instrument according to the requirement of the manual. Please keep the manual carefully for later reference whenever you need it.
 
1.Function:
WiFi Signal Searching Instrument can be used for detecting the strength of WiFi signal. Hence help you to choose the best place to get access to internet. The product will only detect and display the signal strength which meets the requirement of IEEE802.11b/g. It can avoid the disturbance from other signal with frequency of 2.4GHz (such as Bluetooth, Microwave, etc.)

3. Installation:
1) Holding the upper part and middle part of the pen with both hands respectively, unscrew the pen. You will see the battery chamber.
2) Insert two AG13 batteries in the battery chamber with the negative end pointing inside.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

3) Holding the upper part and middle part of the pen with both hands respectively, screw the pen.
Now you have finished installation of the battery, you can operate your product right now.
4. Operation:
Pressing the switch, LED begins to flash. After several seconds, flashing stops and LED will display the signal strength of the current place.

When the signal strength displayed is above level 1, the wireless network adapter of computers can connect to Access Points (AP) stably and continuously. If there is no password or authorization required, (or you have already got the password or the authorization), and AP has already been connected to internet, then you can connect to internet successfully through the AP.

6. Possible problems:
1) When there are several AP working nearby, the Signal Searching Instrument will display strong signal strength.
2) When there are some wireless internet cards working nearby, the Signal Searching Instrument will display the strength of intermittent beacon signal emitted by the wireless internet card.
3) AP and other objects (e.g. human) nearby may cause disturbance to the Signal Searching Instrument (SSI). Especially the gesture holding the SSI, the location of SSI and the surrounding temperature and humidity will affect the transmission of RF signal, consequently affecting the signal reception and result display.
4) When there are some 2.4GHz equipments working nearby, or some other strong disturbance (e.g. powerful electric machine), they may cause problems to SSI. SSI may not be able to distinguish the signal of beacon, and display “no signal”.
5) The frequency of SSI is made according to the requirement of IEEE802.11b/g. For those countries with different AP frequency, SSI may not work properly.
6) When some AP needs to deal with a large amount of data, it may stop to emit signal temporarily. In this case, the SSI will have difficult to search the signal for short time. If the setup of AP makes the signal transmitting time too long, the SSI will encounter the same problem.
7) The basic frequency of AP and SSI are created by crystal. Because of the deviation of crystal and the sensitivity to temperature of crystal, sometimes, the SSI may have difficult to distinguish the valid signal.
8) Based on the uncertainty mentioned above, it is recommended that when deciding the location of WIFI signals, the person should try using SSI to search signals several times, say, 3-5 times, in order to get best effect.
