A simple concept with an elegant implementation - MODULAR AC DRIVE units that can be combined to form a complete multi-section drive system, saving space, reducing wiring and providing unmatched system performance.

AC890 saves Space, Time, and Components
The greatest expense in any AC drive system is wiring, components, and enclosure size. Conventional AC drive systems use complete drives that each require individual external ancillary devices: line reactors, circuit breakers, contactors, fusing and more. The AC890 series takes a different approach. By using modular elements: - a common front end supply, easily common-bussed to individual AC inverter output sections – the need for these devices is eliminated, along with the costs for engineering, mounting and wiring. Additional savings are realized when you factor in enclosure space savings, which translates to factory floor savings.

Controls everything from Induction Motors to Servo Motors
AC890 provides V/f, Sensorless Vector, Closed-loop Flux vector and Servo position control, from simple AC motor control sections to more demanding sections. With a wide variety of sizes and ratings and input and output types, AC890 has the right solution.

  • STANDALONE Drives are complete AC-input-to-AC motor output controller with power input and output terminals, and access to all feedback and networking options.
  • COMMON BUS Drives (CD) are individual motor output sections that easily connect to a
  • COMMON BUS Supply (CS) with a unique, easy-to-install DC bus bar system.

Common Bus made EASY
DC bus terminals are located at top of each drive section. Busbars are secured by screw clamps.
Low cost, compact design reduces wiring in common bus systems.

FIREWIRE communications – No smoke, no mirrors!
FireWire (IEEE1394) delivers 400 Mbps performance, 3 times than most industrial serial buses and almost 1,000 times faster than other fieldbus networks.

FireWire supports full communications directly from node to node. By bypassing varying delays due to central processing loads, 1394 is fast and deterministic in node-to-node communications, enabling high-performance LINK VM embedded applications without any PC presence.
