Color and grain: Initially pink, Sapelli darkens in time to a deep red-brown. Character of the grain: Depending on the type of cut, interesting effects can be achieved: quarter-slicing yields a plain veneer pattern with the glossy stripes typical of Sapelli, flat slicing yields veneer with a flowery structure.
Application: CIn the furniture, door and paneling sector, the classical flat- and quarter-sliced veneer is used. Sapelli is an interesting alternative to light-colored oak and beech flooring in the parquet sector.
