-Base Moldings: Base molding installed along the bottom edge, where the base meets the floor. And, or, a cap (base cap) may be added to the top of the base, which used to cover up the gap that occurs between the wall bottoms and flooring. The baseboard and base trim give the room an impression of solidity, while protecting the walls from scrapes and bumps, and good appearance looking.

It softens the 90 degrees angle where the ceiling and wall meet. Crown molding provides not only decoration, but also creates a gentle transition between the walls and ceiling. The ninety degree angle is softened by the crown molding, which attaches at forty five degree angles to both, the ceiling and wall surface.
