INTRODUCTION
In order to meet the demand for processing splice plates which are widely used in structural steel fabrication and plate fabrication industry. FMC supplies PGD Series machine as an efficient and reasonable-cost choice for our valued customers.
PGD Series is CNC drilling system designed for processing pre-cut steel plates like, Splice plate, Flanges, etc.. There is an X-Y worktable with 4 working stations. The operator can load & unload plate simultaneously from both sides of the worktable. Computer based control system can read Tekla (*,dstv) drawings and Autocad (*.Pdf) drawings directly without mass manually inputting.
There’re 12 / 16 hydraulic pinches to firmly catch the plate while drilling to ensure the working stability. High positioning accuracy with numerical controller ensures reliable precise operation.
Drilling of splice plates in pile ensures higher productivity. There are optional drilling spindles--H.S.S. Drilling Spindle and Carbide Drilling Spindle can be equipped with the machine. The machine equipped with High Speed Drilling Spindle can have a Max. Rotation speed up to 1500 rpm. Also, user can change the hydraulic feeding spindle to be a servo motor controlled feeding spindle for drilling blind hole with required depth. An external mist cooling device is available for lubricating and cooling the drill bit.
Auto Chips-Removal device fixed on the machine provides easy chip disposal.

CONCEPT OF THE MACHINE
Main Machine:
1. PGD Series machine is Gantry-type with a four station on the worktable. The machine body is made of sturdy electro-welded and normalized plate and square beams to ensure the stability while working. A detachable auto Chips-Removal device is also equipped on the side of the main machine provides easy chip disposal.
Drilling system
2. The drilling unit mounted on the gantry can make X-Y movement fast. An auto recyclable coolant system is used for lubricating and cooling the drill bit.
The spindle feeding can either be controlled by a hydraulic cylinder, or a servo motor system which can be used for drilling Blind hole with required depth. As an option, a high speed spindle can be equipped with the machine with Max. Rotation speed up to 1500 rpm.
Worktable
3. A four sets station worktable can fit for different size of Plate. The worktable is double sides open-type to allow the operator to load or unload plate while the other side is working.
Hydraulic system
4. The hydraulic tank placed beside the machine is used for providing pressure for feeding of drilling spindle and pinches tightening / loosing.
Control System
5. The control system is an Industrial Computer based with PLC and modules controlled system. The computer facilitates the operator to design, revise, and transmitting program or manually makes up the program. The numerical control like, PLC, modules, servos, etc. Are all developed by MITSUBISHI to facilitate program creation and provide appreciable operational savings:
1). Conversational programming

3). Absolute and incremental coordinate programming
4). Program exchange by floppy disk, CD, flash-disc, RS-232 connection, local network or optional modem board
5). Part program storage capacity: 120 GB
6). Industrial PC keyboard, LCD 15’’ video display panel, optical mouse.
WORKING PROCEDURE
The plate is laid on to the worktable manually or by overhead crane (heavy plate). The operator selects and starts a program, and the automatic drilling cycle begins:
1. The operator start the machine with "Auto Zero” to let the machine go back to initial point, and the operator selects the drawings and sends to the machine. The machine will auto read CAD drawings and DSTV drawings.
2. The operator step on the footswitch to tighten the pinch so as to hold the plate firmly.
3. The operator just press down "START” on the control panel, the machine will automatically drill the plate. Simultaneously, the operator can load another plate from the other side of the worktable.
4. After finish, the machine will auto lose the plate to allow the operator unload it. And then, the machine can start next working cycle.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS-PRE-INSTALLATION SITE PREPARATION
Foundations and civil engineering must be done by the customer in advance of arrival by factory installation technicians, according to drawings furnished by the factory. Customer to supply dry shop compressor air, and drilling bits for commissioning. The customer must provide a welder and two helpers to assist the technicians during installation. At start-up, the technicians will provide instruction to one primary machine operator and one maintenance person. 7 days are needed to complete the whole installation, commissioning and training.
Exclusions
Seller does not have to provide below items or services:
1. Means of unloading and movement of the machine(s) on the assembly site;
2. Necessary equipment and tools for the assembly of the machine(s) (except for Special Tools provided by Seller;
3. Construction of buildings and finishing civil works connected with them;
4. All the foundation for the machine(s) and conduits for the course of the various feedings of the machine(s), including the metal anchorage plates which are to be fixed to the foundation;
5. Channels and vent stacks for the exhaust of the gaseous products to the atmosphere(if necessary);
6. Hydraulic Oil for filling in the hydraulic system(s) of the machine(s), and machine grease;
7. Raw materials and auxiliary products for the set up and starting of the machine;
8. Lifting system (overhead crane, mobile crane or devices for lifting workpiece & machine parts purpose);
9. All the electrical wires from the main power station cabin to the machine(s) main electrical board, from machine main electrical board to the other electrical boards, and from the electrical boards to the connecting boxes fixed in the cabinet of the machine(s).
GUARANTEE
12 months on parts and labor after successful installation & training in customer’s worksite.
All the parts considered as consumption materials (drills, punches, "O” seals, steel brushes, etc...) which are to be substituted, for maintenance reason, as being noted in the machine(s)’ Manuals / Instructions provided along with the machine(s).
Exceptions
Guarantees do not apply in the following circumstances:
Damage occurs due to a natural disaster;
Malfunction occurs due to Buyer’s error;
Malfunction occurs due to modification without Seller’s instruction & permission;
Malfunction occurs due to further movement or shipment after installation;
Charges within and out of warranty
Within Warranty
1. If the Buyer needs to change the damaged spare parts caused by the quality of Seller’s machine(s) within warranty, Seller will provide the spare parts to Buyer without charging the cost of the spare parts. The freight and relevant charges caused by transporting the spare parts should be borne by the Seller;
2. If the Buyer needs to change the damaged spare parts caused by the keeping, use or incorrect operation or other reasons stated in EXCEPTIONS of the buyer within warranty, Seller will provide the spare parts to the buyer charging the cost of the spare parts. The freight and relevant charges caused by transporting the spare parts should be borne by Buyer;
3. If the Seller is requested by the Buyer to dispatch technician(s) to Buyer’s worksite for repairing machine(s) within the warrantee, if within UAE, the Seller will send his technician(s) to Buyer's worksite for problem shooting without any labor charge; if out of UAE, the Seller needs to arrange the Visa (could be assisted by the Buyer if necessary) and Air-Tickets on his account, and the Buyer needs to afford the accommodation and lodging for Seller’s technician(s) .
Out of Warrantee
1. If the Buyer needs to change the damaged spare parts out of warranty, Seller will provide the spare parts to the Buyer charging the cost of the spare parts. The freight and relevant charges caused by transporting the spare parts should be borne by Buyer;
2. If the Buyer needs Seller's technician to Buyer's worksite for repairing the machine out of warrantee, if within UAE, all related charges including the salary (USD 50.00/day) and transportation should be borne by the Buyer; if out of UAE, the salary (USD 50.00/day), Visa, Air-Tickets, accommodation & lodging should be borne by the Buyer.
AFTER-SALES SERVICE
1. After the machine(s) arriving at the Buyer’s site, Seller will, Send his technician(s) to fulfill the Installation and Commissioning; Give training course to user’s operator and maintenance technicians; Supervise in user’s work shop for Max. One week (if requested by the Buyer) after normal training courses period to assure that user’s operator(s) can master the machine(s) completely;
2. If there are any malfunctions caused by defective manufacturing, Seller will dispatch new parts/components to the Buyer, or send his technician(s), if within UAE, to user's work site for trouble-shooting within 24 hours after being officially noticed by the Buyer; if out of UAE, to user’s work site to shoot the troubles within 48 hours on receipt of Buyer country’s Visa.
3. If the program of PLC or Machining Program needs modification because of upgrade of techniques, Seller will modify the program for the Buyer free of charge. As the precondition that if there is no modification of hardware, Seller will provide its new version of software imitatively to Buyer.
4. If there are any malfunctions caused by user's inappropriate operation and/or maintenance, or the machine(s) need through repair/replacing spare parts because of years' continuous operation, Seller will provide his service to assure the machines' continuous running.
CONFIDENTILITY
CONFIDENTIALITY OBLIGATIONS
From time to time prior to and during the Term either Party("disclosing Party”) has disclosed or may disclosed CONFIDENTIALITY information to the other Party ("receiving Party”). The receiving Party shall, during the Term and for 5 years thereafter:
1. Maintain the CONFIDENTIALITY information;
2. Not use CONFIDENTIALITY information for any purposes other than those specifically set out in this Quotation; and
3. Not disclose any such CONFIDENTIALITY information to any person or entity, except to its employees or employees of its Affiliates, its agents, attorneys, accountants, and other advisers who need to know such information to perform their responsibilities and who have signed written CONFIDENTIALITY Agreements containing terms (collectively "Permitted Disclosure Parties”).
CONFIDENTIALITY EXCEPTIONS
The provisions of CONFIDENTIALITY OBLIGATIONS shall not apply to information that:
1. Can be shown to be known by the receiving Party by written records made prior to disclosure by the disclosing Party;
2. Is or becomes public knowledge otherwise than through the receiving Party’s breach of this Quotation; or
3. Was obtained by the receiving Party from a third party have no obligation of confidentiality with respect to such information.
CONFIDENTIALITY RULES
Each Party shall formulate rules and regulations to inform its directors, senior staff, and other employees, and those of their Affiliates of the CONFIDENTIALITY OBLIGATIONS set forth.
RETURN OF MATERIAL
On the Expiration Date (or upon the disclosing Party’s request at any time), the receiving Party shall,
1. Return to the other Party, or at the disclosing Party’s direction destroy, all materials (including any copies thereof) embodying the other Party’s CONFIDENTIALITY information and
2. Certify in writ to the other Party, within 10 (ten) days following the other Party’s request, that all of such materials have been returned or destroyed. Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions of this Article—RETURN OF MATERIAL, following the Expiration Date, Buyer may retain copies of technical information relating to the use and maintenance of the Equipment, provided that Buyer shall keep such information confidential in accordance with the Provisions of Article—CONFIDENTIALITY OBLIGATIONS
