Cowles Dispersion Test is carried out referring to the procedure from ASTM, i.e., add the pigment into alkyd resin(70% solid), stir at high speed to mix them thoroughly, then measure the degree of dispersion (commonly referred to as "fineness of grind") with a Hegman Gauage. This is a key index reflecting the pigment's dispersion. |
