Dimethyl sulfate volatilizes remarkably at normal pressure when the temperature reaches 50°C when the temperature is between 43°C
to 54°C whose humidity is relatively high, it will hydrolyze rapidly to produce methyl alcohol and sulfuric acid. It is slightly soluble in water.

Uses:
Dimethyl sulfate is an effective methylating agent for amine and
phenol, widely used in organic synthetic industry, such as medicine, biochemistry, dye, perfume etc. It is also used as a solvent in mineral oil separating.
Packing: In 200, 250 kilogram / iron drum or bulk.
Caution:
When transported, Dimethyl sulfate should be covered to prevent the
sunshine and the rain, and it should be loaded and unloaded carefully to prevent damaging the packing iron drum. It should be stored in dry and ventilated places. It should be kepted away from fire and heat source. It
should be prevented from stored and transported with oxidant, cyanide, food or articles for daily used.
Dimethyl sulfate is hypertoxic and vesicant with a sign showing hypertoxic on the packing drum. When handling it, the operators must put on rubbergloves, aprons, protective glasses, rubber boots and gauze masks to avoid skin contact and vapour inhaling it. If poisoned by it, the victim should be kept warm and be prevented light and irritant and then be sent to the occupationaldisease hospital.
