1. Summary

The Model DWY-1 Electrical Stability Tester is a kind of instrument used mainly to measure the relative stability of water in oil (w/o) emulsion. In addition, the electrical resistance caused by impurity present in electrolytic solution and the stability to time can be predicted from the measurements of the relative emulsion stability. This instrument also can be used to evaluate the oil base drilling fluids, oil base releasing stuck agent, cement and crack water etc. Therefore, it can be extensively applied in petroleum, metallurgy, drilling crew and research institutions, etc.

Electrical Stability Tester (EST)

The Model 23D Electrical Stability Tester (EST) is a battery powered portable instrument that conforms to the test procedure described in  API Recommended Practice 13B-2.

The Model 23D EST is calibrated in peak volts which is the maximum voltage that the fluid experiences between the two electrodes. Peak voltage may be converted to Root Mean Square (RMS) voltage by multiplying the peak voltage by 0.7071.
