3.The principle
High voltage generator supply X-ray tube with high voltage, product x-ray, shoot on the sample, according to nλ=2dsinθ,product diffraction, and the digital counter absorb the x-ray and display through the uA meter.
4. Component and Features
4.1.YX-300 x-ray orientation unit is consisted of mechanical part, which made up with the table, tube housing , goniometer and various accessories; and electrical part ,which made up with voltage stabilizer and controller , high voltage transformer, magnifying, digital counter, air pump , cooling fan , x-ray tube.
4.2. The tube housing of orientation unit is horizontal and the cover is on the top , Easy to replace the x-ray tube.
4.3. Counter tube and samples share one scale, in the face of operator, easy to read.
4.4. Counter tube relative to the sample distance is adjustable at his arm, in order to meet and measure the need of the sample of different size.
4.5. Air pump have long performance life , it is convenient to maintain.
4.6. The switch of power, voltage of x-tube and the current knob are in the front of the tube housing.
4.7 Safety defence cover to avoid x-ray’s injury to the user.
5. Installation and adjusting
5.1. This unit is also need the following conditions:
(1) Place where be well-ventilated, and less dust.
(2) Place where flat and no shake.
5.2. Installation
This unit should be place in the room after open the packing box, the first item, you should check the parts according the packing list. if there are some problem, you should contact with the factory immediately .
(1) The preparation before installation
Should have the necessary tools for moving and install this unit.
Should clean the unit after open the packing box . clear the x-ray tube and the voltage cable .the body of the unit should be firmed.
(2) The installation of the x-ray tube and the voltage cable
Keep the x-ray tube and the voltage cable clean ,first loose the screws over the cover , then move the cover ,and loose the screws on the nip(M3),and make the x-ray tube and high voltage cable become a whole. put the x-ray tube in tube housing .
Caution: Don’t contact with the Be window of X-ray tube during the installation .don’t link the high voltage cable temporarily with high voltage transformer.
(1) Counter installation
First check it carefully, install this unit on the arm at goniometer, the distance is the shorten the best between this unit and center of the sample , connect the cable plug with the outlet.
(2) Cable connect
a).The first you must discharge the connector on the high voltage transformer with earth!!
and then connect the high voltage cable with the high voltage transformer, with screw (M5)
b) Connect the power cable with D1, D2 (big hole)
c).This unit must has earth connection . (smaller hole)
5.3. Testing.
On the basis of the good installation . Switch on the main power , the indicator lamp will be light (red).the following should work well.
(1) X-ray tube’s filament is light, adjust the mA knob, at the same time, the brightness of filament should change.
(2) The cooling fan should work and make voice.
(3) Switch on the air pump, the sample plan can attract the standard sample.
(4) Push "ON” button of the high-voltage, the high-voltage indicator lamp is light (red), Open the shutter of X-ray , there is X-ray penetrates. In order to check whether there is X ray that penetrates, you can adopt the fluorescence board or through the partly display of the counter and uA meter
Under the condition of the X-ray penetrates and normal work of partly display,
Calibration goniometer as follows,
a) Put standard quartz (1011 ) at the sample plan,
b) Unclamp the fastening hand knob of the detector, move the detector to reach 26°40'(Examine the angle scale indicator on the angle appearance through observing), then lock the hand knob.
c) Rotate the hand wheel and transfer the sample to 13°20’, regulate every knob of the register in the best position, Switch on the high-voltage and open X-ray shutter, slightly rotate the hand wheel until intensity is highest on uA meter indicator, at this time you can preset the digital switch to the 13.20.0,and then press the reset key, or you can set the digital switch to the 00.00.0, if you like then press the reset key.
6. Use and maintenance of the instrument
6.1 Power on sequence
a) .Switch on the main power , then press on high voltage button ,
b) Switch on the air pump ,
c) Put the sample on sample plan, then according to the 2θ angle, reserve the angle of the counter, for this reason you must unclamp the fastening hand button on the calibrated scale, the counter should be transfer to the angle required and fasten the hand button, open the X-ray shutter , Move the hand wheel, until microampere(uA meter) is expressed the maximum, read it. This is the angle value that we examined; Write down on the fixed position, which is the often-touched sample angle. Users can insert by oneself on the photographic paper if you like. These angles appearance panel are use for check of work. The operating position of every knob, here we make a general principle sense of introduction. The operator can follow the principle offered, select flexibly, make sure use accomplished, and improve the sensitivity.
(1) "mA” regulating knob of X-ray tube
This knob changes "mA” of X-ray tube, before switch on high voltage, you should transfer this knob to a smaller position, After switch on high voltage, you can increase suitable " mA " according to the examined sample.
On terms that satisfy using, should try one's best to choose low mA, it is good to generally give a recommendation in 1—2mA.
(2) Counting rate knob
This knob is to change count tube’s working voltage, choose suitable position according to the needing,. (Voltage 800-100V is good) change the voltage of count tube, uA is adjustable in intensity.
(3) base line knob:
Not often regulate at work, make "uA "indicator point to zero adjacent place all the time. Advice 20 scale is good.
(4) Time constant;
Have 1, 2, 3 steps, when "uA” needle swings bigger, should put at 3 position. Recommend it in 2 position..
(5) Angle display:
a). While power on or press the reset button, the angle shown is the digital switch gives value. may not be actual angle of goniometer.
b). Use standard sample, search the largest intensity, and set digital switch to 13°20’,press reset knob.
(6).The slit
There are three size of slit :
a) 4′ slit for high sensitive
b) 6′ slit for high intensity
c) 5′ slit for middle
6.2. Power off sequence :
(1) Put in the Shutter of the X-ray;
(2) Press the high voltage off button.
(3) Turn off main power after the five minute, make the sufficient cooling of tube.
6.3.Cautions:
(1) Shut off the X-ray immediately when this unit don’t work, avoid x-ray’s injury to the user
(2) After put sample on plan , open the X-ray shutter then close the door of Safety defence cover to avoid x-ray’s injury to the user.
(3) Making the necessary protecting measure, for example, wearing the leaded glasses and plumbous apron.
6.4.Replace some spareparts and simple trouble remove
(1) While the air pump can’t suck samples, needs changing.
(2) Digital counter because of longing run reaching at the life-span, it is need to be changed.
(3) X –ray tube reach at the life-span ,it is need to be changed , X –ray tube need to be seasoned, at first time use .
(4) Maintenance of the instrument and parameter adjustment
a). Cooling fan need for fuel-injections every year ,with watch's oil.
If it do not work well , replace it with new one .!!
b).If high voltage of X-ray tube can not be switch on , sometimes, general reason is door switch protection or switch of top cover .Check it at this moment
c).In the moist area overcast and rainy, should pay attention to being dampproof , the indoor humidity does not exceed 70% , is it must adopt adequate measure, counter surface of tube namely signal input end and high-voltage end must be dry especially, otherwise the counter and amplifier can not work normally.
