Appearance White monoclinic crystalline powder, specific gravity 1.667, soluble in water, insoluble in alcohol, heated in the air is oxidized into sodium sulfate, sulfur dioxide and water. In isolation from the air under the (oxygen-ri) combustion is generated sodium sulfate, sodium sulfide and sulfur.

Usage  mainly used in photographic industry for the fixing agent.
