Bright orange, needle or small-granular crystal. It deliquesces easily in air, dissolves very easily in water and becomes acidic and orange solution. In acid medium, Sodium bichromate is a strong oxidant.
It is mainly used in the manufacture of Chromic acid, Chrome pigment and other chromic salts. It is also used in the industries of tanning leather, textile, electroplating, medicine, oil and fat, petroleum, dye and drilling, etc.
