It is white or light yellow crystalline powder. It can easily dissolve in organic solvents such as alcohols, esters, alkanes and aromatics (e.g.ethanol, ethyl acetate, gasoline, toluene, etc.), and is insoluble in water and aqueous solution of acids and bases. It is basically nontoxic.
Applications: It shows anti-oxidative effects equally as 264. It can be used in natural and synthetic rubber as well as glues and polyolefins plastics. Pollution-free, no discoloration, low price are its outstanding advantages. Meanwhile, it can also be used as the main raw material of efficient phosphite antioxidants 633, 641.
