Specifications

1. Overview
SilverPAC ZigBee/RS232 collector (hereinafter referred as "RS232 collector") offers the functionality of signal conversion between ZigBee and RS232. As the device is convenient for installation and maintenance, it is widely used in the fields of wireless data acquisition (like Automatic Meter Reading (AMR)) and wireless industrial control.

2. Product Features
l  The RS232 collector offers the functionality of signal conversion between ZigBee and RS232. It can be also installed with a RS232 supported utility meter to enable AMR functions.
When the RS232 collector is used as ZigBee network collector, the host station can remotely configure the RS232 collector's parameters such as communication baud rate of RS232 port and communication channel.
When the RS232 collector is used as meter collector, the host station can modify the RS232 communication baud rate of the collector by commands, to adapt meters of different specifications.
The host station can change collectors' working channels based on wireless communication environments to obtain better performance.

4. Installation and Connection

4.1. Installation
1.To insure the safety and reliability of installation and operation, the RS232 collector should be installed in an indoor environment where is well-ventilated and dry. Fix the RS232 collector by two brads on the insulated board or wall. The RS232 collector should be covered by a protective cabinet if it could be possibly damaged due to environmental factors or artificial factors.
2. Open the small cover board of RS232 collector and screw up the screws. Insert connectors according to the wiring diagram. Screw up the screws and finally cover back the small cover board.
3. Power the RS232 collector. It will enter the normal operating mode.

5. Installation Recording
When the RS232 collector is used as an external terminal of a device (like for utility meter), the ID matching information should be recorded in the table below with module addresses (bar code) as collector IDs matching the device IDs. The table should be reported to the administrator of host station. The system works only after the administrator downloads relative information to the RS232 collectors.
