Siamese CCTV Cable is the most common coaxial cable used in CCTV system installation.  Siamese CCTV cable is an RG59/U and an 18/2 power cable all in one cable.  The RG59/U is used for your video and the 18/2 cable is used to power your camera.  The two cables are attached side by side for easy cable pulling and convenient installation.  In a CCTV camera system installation one end of your coax cable will plug into the camera and the other end will connect to your DVR.  This connection is made possible by putting a BNC connector on both ends of your RG59 coax cable.   As for the 18/2 power cable one end will go into your camera and the other end will go directly into a CCTV power supply or transformer to give power to the camera.  It is best practice to buy male and female pigtails to create a connector end to your 18/2 power cable.  Pigtails will allow you to easily connect your power cable to both your camera and power source.
