Fluconazole :

Fluconazole is used to treat fungal infections of the vagina, mouth, throat, esophagus, abdomen, lungs, blood and other organs in the human body.

Fluconazole is also sometimes used to treat an infection of the membranes covering the brain and spine, referred to as meningitis.  These types of infections are caused by fungus.

In patients who suffer from recurring yeast infections, Fluconazole is used to prevent yeast infection outbreaks from recurring.
