The Heavy ribbon bridge is a standard heavy pontoon equipment used for constructing 70ft (700kN) and 20tf (200kN) floating bridges and 40tf (400kN), 70tf (700kN) and 110tf (1100kN) ferry rafts over rivers with a current velocity not higher than 2. 5 meters per second.
Its complete set consists of 14 interior bays, 2 ramp bays, 5 motor boat and 21 refitted cross-country trucks.
Main features of the equipment are:
1)the floating bridge and ferry raft, constructed from the tight-boxes integrating pontoons, stringers and plates, being continuous ribbon-type floating bodies;
2)an easy conversion between bridge and ferry crossings, as each interior bay (of ramp bay ) being a section of a floating bridge or a ferry raft with the same structure;
3) a wide roadway used as either a single-lane for heavy loads or a double-lane for light loads; and
4) no wharf construction required in raft crossing, its accompanied ramps facilitating loading and unloading after mooring.
