Introduction

WD-SJ601 is an agglomerated aluminate-fluoride basic type soldering flux for submerged arc welding with a basicity index of BIIW 1.8. The flux is spherical granular, grain size is from 10 to 60 mesh. The welded metal is very purity and shows excellent mechanical properties. The diffusible hydrogen content is less than 5ml/100g. It has excellent welding technology properties. Regularly shaped welds are deposited without reduction of area or interface notches. Slag detachability is good. It is suitable for submerged twin-wire, tandem and multi-wire welding as well as for welding with the two-run technique.
The special production method ensures that the flux has low moisture pick-up and granular stability. Flux shall be capable of meeting the applied requirements. As the bulk density is low, so is the consumption rate.

Applications

Flat butt, fillet and joint welding of stainless and low carbon stainless steels.Surfacing of mild steels and low alloy steels.

Characteristics

Using WD-SJ601 flux there is minimal chromium loss in the deposit. Welded metal of austenitic structure containing comparatively large amount of ferrite shows excellent crack resistance, corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. It has excellent welding technology properties. Regularly shaped welds are deposited without reduction of area or interface notches. The welds are smooth and without slag residues.

Notice:
1. Before welding, flux must be baked for 2 hours at temperature of 300-350°C.
2. Remove rust, oil, moisture and etc. from the weldment.
