Single and double row full complement bearings (without cage) complete the SKF standard assortment for general engineering. Bearings with a cage can accommodate heavy radial loads and operate at high speeds. Full complement bearings are suitable for very heavy radial loads at moderate speeds.
Full complement cylindrical roller bearings have solid inner and outer rings and rib-guided cylindrical rollers. They have extremely high radial load carrying capacity, high rigidity and are suitable for particularly compact designs. Due to their kinematic conditions, however, they cannot achieve the high speeds that are possible when using cylindrical roller bearings with cage.
Split cylindrical roller bearings are intended primarily for bearing arrangements which are difficult to access or for cranked shafts. The main applications for split cylindrical roller bearings are cold tube rolling mill (Pilger mill) crankshafts, bucket wheel excavators, rolling mill drive spindles as well as large ventilation installations.
