Propylene glycol is unsaturated polyester, epoxy resin, polyurethane resin of the important raw material, in this regard
The amount of propylene glycol about 45% of total consumption , is about the unsaturated polyester is used extensively for surface coatings and reinforced plastics. Glycol viscosity and good moisture absorption, and non-toxic, and thus in the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry, widely used as hygroscopic agents, antifreeze agents, lubricants and solvents. In the food industry, the reaction of propylene glycol and propylene glycol fatty acid esters of fatty acids, mainly used as a food emulsifier; propylene glycol is a good solvent seasoning and pigment. Propylene glycol commonly used in the pharmaceutical industry for manufacturing various types of ointment, ointment solvent, softener, and excipients such as propylene glycol and various types of spices with a good intersolubility, and thus used as a cosmetic solvents and softening agent. Propylene glycol is also used as a tobacco humidifying agent, mildew, food processing equipment, lubricants and food marking ink solvent. Propylene glycol aqueous solution is effective cryoprotectant.
