Copper Sulphate Pentahydrate is blue crystal or crystalline powder. Copper sulfate solution is acidic. Its powder has strong pungent odor. Soluble in water and dilute ethanol and insoluble in anhydrous ethyl alcohol. Easily deliquescent in wet air and have strong hygroscopicity. When heated, it becomes anhydrous copper sulfate which is white or grey powder. In high temperature copper sulphate decomposes into copper oxide.
