Characteristics: 304L is the low carbon 304 stainless steel variant, used in welding occasion.
Lower carbon content makes carbide precipitation minimum in the heat affected zone near the welding joint.
Carbide precipitation may result stainless steel intergranular corrosion (weld erosion) in some environment. But after welding or removing the stress, the corrosion resistance is particularly strong. Without heat treatment, it still has the corrosion resistance, widely used in below 400℃. (non-magnetic temperature: 196 to 800 ℃)
