Lanolin Fatty Acids are a product of the alkaline hydrolysis of wool grease,
derived when selectively separating the alcohols from the acids. The fatty acid mixture contains a complex mixture of straight, branched and hydroxy acids and is in the form of a hard, waxy solid. The majority of the mixture of fatty acids is saturated with carbon chain lengths varying from C8 to C40.
Mainly used as a pre-cursor for Isopropyl Lanolate, Glyceryl Lanolate and other lanolin esters.
