Properties: it is white granular or crystalline powder with a slight smell of formic acid. It is soluble in water and glycerin, slightly soluble in alcohol and poisonous. Melting point is 253 degrees (without water).

 

Application: 1.  used in leather industry. 2.   it is composition of catalyst and stabilizer, used in printing and dyeing for textiles and reducing agent for paper. 3.   used as the raw material in the manufactures of sodium hydrosulphite, formic acid and oxalic acid. 4.     used as drilling fluid and completion fluid in oil field and used to manufacture road antifreeze and cement antifreeze. 5.   used for making deicing agent.   6.  used for making buffering agent.
