Glucosamine is commonly known as amino sugars and its full name is n-amino-n-deoxy-Hexanal sugar. It is a compound of the glucose and an amino substituted by a hydroxyl. It is an important nutrient to formate human cartilage cells. It can also be extracted from natural chitin and is one of the main component of chondroitin sulfate.
Glucosamine is a white or off-white color powder, odorless, hygroscopic, freely soluble in water or organic solvent such as ethanol, acetone, dioxane and so on.
Glucosamine is an important prerequisite of the synthesis of Bifidobacterium factor; in the biological body it has many important physiological functions. In the clinical it is treatment of rheumatic and rheumatoid arthritis; it can be used as antioxidants in food and infant food additives, sweeteners of diabetic patients.
