Properties: White powder, three crystal forms of titanium, anatase and rutile. And the latter two forms are widely applied for industrial purposes.

Relative scale of rutile type: 4.26, melting point: 1830-1850, and relative scale of anatase 3.84. It is very stable in chemical nature, insoluble in water, organic acids and some inorganic acids, and soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid, alkali and hydrofluoric acid. With stable chemical performance, strong achromatic power, covering power and other excellent paint performance.

Refractive index: rutile 2.70 and anatase 2.5, non-toxic.

Applications: It is used as white pigment and ceramic glaze in the coating industry as well as coating and filler in the paper industry in order to improve the paper printability and transparency. It is also applied for manufacturing sponge titanium, ferrotitanium and Kentanium in the metallurgical industry, as well as insulator, welding electrode and enamel. In addition, it can also be used in such industries as fiber, plastic, rubber, printing, dyeing and cosmetics. And it is used as medicine packing and food additives.

Preparation: Sulfuric acid process, chlorination process
