Properties: it is white or yellow crystalline powder or small crystal, with warm smell of SO2. It will create acidic solution after dissolving in water.

 

Application: it can be made into bleach (used for candy, cakes and water-soaked bamboo slice), bulking agent (used for bread and biscuit), anticorrosive microbicides (used for fruit juice and canned food), antistaling agent (used for seafood and fruit dredging).
