Attapulgite clay
Attapulgite is a kind of hydrous aluminium silicates. The typical chemical equation of it is: Mg5Si8O20(OH)2(OH2)44H2O.Since the Mg of which is always replaced by Al & Mg, it’s structure is generally resembles the 2:1 type stratification Chain, and possessed of particular fiber crystal mould.
The main use is following:
1. Adsorbents, purification and catalyst of the properties of petroleum & chemical products, the treatment of waste water.
2.High quality mud for geothermal drilling and oil-well drilling.
3.Adsorbents and thickeners for medicine, clarification for wine-making.
4.Good supports for pottery, acid-proof glass pesticide and chemical fertilizer and adherent, strengthener of foundry sand.
5.Special use in synthetic plastics, rubber, paper-making, and also the treatment of radio-active waste, etc.
6.It can be used for reserving solar energy, as a better stabilizer.
7.Anti-settling agent for paint & coatings.
8.Binder for fertilizer, molecular sieve, mineral wool board.
