[Properties]
Cryolite is a kind of complex compound or complex salt. Belonging to white monoclinic system (109℃). It is white, grayish white, yellow powder or crystalline particles, usually in indivisible compacted masses displaying glassy luster to greasy luster. Its melting point is 1025℃, stacking density 0.6-1.0g/L, true density 2.95-3.05g/cm3, heat of formation 225KJ, specific gravity 2.75-3.00g/cm3, fusion heat 107KJ. It’s slightly soluble in water with its solution acidic, when mixed with sulfuric acid, it will emit toxic hydrogen fluoride gas.
[Application]
The product is mainly used as the fusing agent for aluminum electrolysis; and can also be used as the anti-wear additive for grinding products, which can effectively improve the abrasion resistance, cutting and sheering forces of grinding wheels, extend the service life and storage time; as the fusing agent for Ferro-alloys and rimming steel, fusing agent for non-ferrous metals, deoxidizing agent for casting, catalytic agent for olefinic polymerization, and also as the anti-reflective coating for glass, emulsifier for enamel, opacifier for glass, fusing agent for welding materials, filling agent for ceramics, pesticide for agricultural chemicals etc.
