Properties: CuSO4 ·5H2O is dark blue lumpish crystals or dark powers, poisonous and non-smell, with the astringency of metal. It has a 24% to 25% content of cuprum, a relative density of 2.284 and tends to dehydrated into white powers in dry air. It is soluble in water, alcohol, glycerine and liquid amine, with acidity. When heated to 30 ℃ , it will lose its crystal water, and become white anhydrous substance, and when continued to be heated to 341 ℃ , it will decompose to sulfur dioxide and oxygen and cupric oxide, which is black.
Application:
Copper Sulphate is used for extracting the other copper is also used as a textile mordant, agricultural pesticides, fungicides, and for water treatment.
