Physical Description:
Zinc Sulphate Heptahydrate is a crystalline white material (powder). PLEASE NOTE - IT IS COMMON (USUAL) FOR ZINC SULPHATE HEPTAHYDRATE TO GO HARD IN THE BAG. This is related to its ability to absorb and retain atmospheric moisture. The product is still suitable to use and just needs to be physically broken up.
Uses:
Zinc Sulphate Heptahydrate is used as a fertiliser additive for preventing and correcting zinc deficiencies in crops. This trace element is approved by Bio-Gro and Certenz for restricted use, thus written permission is required before use.
Application:
Zinc Sulphate Heptahydrate is typically dissolved in water and applied as a spray when herbage levels are low or deficiency symptoms occur. For cereal crops, applications as a foliar are most effective when applying at the late-tillering stage. Apply at a rate of 3-10 kg/ha, dissolved in 200 litres of water. It is recommended that care is taken when applying as a foliar to crops, as it may burn crops. Therefore, it should be applied early morning or late evening.
Zinc sulphate heptahydrate (and zinc sulphate mono) can also be applied directly to soil, resulting in substantial residual effects with responses lasting several years.
Storage & Handling:
Zinc Sulphate Heptahydrate is mildly irritant, so care should be taken to avoid contact with eyes. Store in a cool, dry covered facility, and that the bag is closed properly after use
