Truss or Lattice girders are known as cubical reinforcing elements and are used for the production of prefab slabs, joist slabs and double walls in various forms. 

Lattice girder applications: Often used in permanent precast concrete formwork to in-situ slabs, lattice girders provide rigidity to the unit and acts as a mechanical fixing between the precast formwork and the in-situ concrete.

Lattice girder floors or half-slabs comprise a thin reinforced precast concrete slab with cast in lattice girders and which are provided with an in-situ concrete topping. This most frequently used reinforced floor type is used for all applications in residential and commercial construction. The fundamental benefits are amongst other things a high-quality product at a reasonable price, extreme dimensioning versatility and rapid on installation. 

Triangular lattice girders

The Triangular-lattice-girders are made from high tensile reinforcing bar, Lattice Girders being with a typical design comprising of one top bar (8-16mm), two bottom bars (5-12mm) and inclined ‘zigzag’ bars (8mm). 

Lattice Girders are used mainly as reinforcement of prefabricated slabs and beams where concreting is performed in two stages, offering the advantage of avoiding scaffolding and formwork needed in traditional construction. 

Therefore, Lattice Girders are best suited when slab reinforcement is generally light while at the same time fast and no-formwork construction is needed.

Concerning prefab slabs, the lattice girders are used as strutting elements and as thrust and compound reinforcement for partially prefabricated concrete components which are finished on site with in situ concrete.

Lattice girders are also increasingly used in the production of socalled double walls where they constitute the bond between two panels which are finished on site with in situ concrete. The lattice girder reinforced joist ceiling with hollow bricks of clay or concrete holds an important market in Southern Europe and in Central and South America.
